I will be happier once WMR and Vive Pro sets are fully supported though. I am glad someone is doing this app, and unless someone does it better down the line I think it is worth the purchase for me. If you want something to simply work out of the box so to speak, may not be for you, or it might be depending on the title you desperatelyw ant to see in VR as it may be the only way that happens. If your the type to spend hours modding games, you will love it. VorpX is not for everyone, it is a tinker type mod. I am frustrated that I am having issues with the desktop config.but config in game still works fine, and yes the lag could be better compared to polished vr title, but I am throwing a 1080 Ti at it.
#Vorpx settings full
You can play any 3d game in yoru library basically, and even not in full VR but on the Couch view with basically a huge 3D Imax screen is alot of fun.(esp on 3rd person mode games, (witcher etc) The desktop mode alone makes it very useful and worth it. In fact I played Skyrim VR for a good while tonight and no issues with Vorpx being installed. I deffinately have not noticed it affecting any other games when turned off. However once I was in game it ran well i did have one crash but it was after I went kind of extreme with my settings. The main issue for me is something is conflicting with Vorpconfig, so I have to manually adjust settings. I know why the dev doesn't want to publish is software on steam, I'm sure he's too worried about the refund option. Some people on youtube seem to think it's cool, but once you're in the Odyssey, and it looks even worse than playing on the PSVR (pixellated), it's an instant regret. The display resolution of the Odyssey is totally different from the Oculus and Vive, so it's a pain.
Lucky you if everything works well, but for me Vorpx was not more than a big waste of money and disappointement. That's what caused so many crashes in my case. Also, some Vorpx processes launch at the start of your PC and remains in memory, even though you don't use VR at all or you don't launch Vorpx. I really don't recommend it if you want a stable system. After uninstalling Vorpx, everything was working fine again.
#Vorpx settings driver
After installing Vorpx, even games using only 30% of my GPU randomly have graphic driver crash. I also have an Odyssey, and on my windows system, it makes any 3d game randomly crash the nvidia driver. I purchased VorpX it mostly sucks, performance isn't on par with real VR title, it's very blurry, very buggy.
